The 2022 New Brunswick Provincials (Sep 16-18) was a successful tournament with 236 athletes in attendance. The large brackets filled with talented men’s and women’s teams meant it was no easy feat to make the podium.
Poach players specifically had tremendous success over the tournament weekend as they claimed a majority of the 4.0+ level gold medals. We even saw eager up and comers representing Poach pull out some incredible wins resulting in turned heads.
When asked what her favourite parts of the NB Provincials were, Poach’s own double-gold medalist (4.0+ open divisions) Lisa Weir responded with…
“The best part was seeing our NB pickleball family pull off this epic event. Kumar and I travel to larger provinces and to the US to play tournaments and for a small province hosting its first ever provincial championshp, the committee truly knocked it out of the park.
The second best part would definitely be how proud I am of our club members who totally rocked the podium with 27 medals! Kumar and I have worked so hard to grow the competition here in Saint John and we were like proud parents seeing all those podium finishes!”
